33 children , together with mums, dads or grandmas, came for a morning of crafts and activities

There was quite a "buzz" as the children made treasure island maps, telescopes,pirate hats,

telescopes, bracelets and treasure chests laden with gold coins, jewels, necklaces.

Cakes were decorated with gold icing and gold or pearls decorations

Treasure Island is a story told by Robert Louis Stevenson, but the Bible tells us about treasure

Jesus told us that God's kingdom is like a man who found treasure in a field and sold all he had to buy the field

anda  merchant who sold all he had to buy a pearl of great value

And so we dug in a bucket of sand to find treasure  - a chocolate coin!  

and "panned" for pieces fo gold paper in a bowl of water. 

Oyster shells, with a pearl inside, and a pearl decoration were made

Games and singing in the upstairs room ended the morning and the children went home laden with their crafts
